Bilingual Therapy
If you are bilingual or multi-lingual, you may have noticed the differences in how you feel and the sense of who you are depending on which of your languages you are speaking. In my work, I incorporate the knowledge of how being bilingual / multi-lingual influences our emotions, memories and identity in order to help you make sense of your experiences.
Culturally responsive psychotherapy
Many people in the United States have a background that is considered “non-mainstream,” whether it is of a different country or a subculture within the U.S. If you have such a background, you might fear that your therapist will judge or misunderstand you and your culture, blame you for your problems, or not know how to be helpful to you. If this sounds familiar to you, please consider me to be your therapist.
I have had extensive training in multicultural psychology. I have worked with people from various backgrounds, enough to know that I cannot know about every culture. But, I will continue to be open and understanding, work in collaboration with you, and support you to the very best of my ability.
